The Furnace Missions Partnership
Every year, The Furnace partners with churches across the United States to send missionaries to Uganda, Africa. Each mission trip serves communities throughout Mukono and Kampala, ministering in schools, churches, and neighborhoods while providing practical support, encouragement, and the hope of Christ.
The missions have been formally led by Pastors Dona and Bryce Putnam of The Garden Church in Bakersfield, California, former senior pastors of Believers Church International and Bay Believers. With more than 30 years of experience leading missions to Africa and other countries, they have built strong relationships, trusted partnerships, and a respected reputation within the communities they serve.
After several years of partnering with and co-leading mission teams to Africa, the baton has now been passed to Dr. Katie Lopez, Founder and Executive Director of The Furnace, to continue building upon this ministry and the relationships established over the years.
Connecting Teens Across Continents
The Furnace participates in these mission trips by partnering with the missions team to provide donations and support to the schools and communities being served during each trip.
This partnership creates something especially meaningful for The Furnace: an opportunity for the teenagers we serve in the United States to connect with and pour into their peers in Uganda.
Through fundraising, collecting donations, prayer, and hands-on involvement, our teens learn that they have the ability to make a difference beyond their own communities. They begin to see themselves not simply as recipients of support, but as leaders, servants, and world changers who can use what they have to encourage and bless others.
Our vision is to build a bridge between young people in the United States and Uganda, giving teens the opportunity to serve, connect, learn from one another, and experience the power of giving.
At The Furnace, we believe that when we pour into the next generation, they learn how to pour into others.
