Good Samaritan School and Orphanage has recently built a brand-new wing that includes a technology center, giving students the opportunity to learn how to use computers for the very first time.

​

For many of these students, this will be their first experience using a computer. As technology continues to shape education and the world around us, internet access has become one of the most important tools for learning. With access to the internet, these students will be able to research, explore new subjects, access educational resources, develop technology skills, and expand their knowledge far beyond the walls of their classroom.

100% of donations raised through this campaign will go directly toward helping the school install internet service for the technology center.

For many of us, access to information through the internet has been something we have had at our fingertips for more than 20 years. For these students, that opportunity is just beginning. We have the opportunity to help bridge that gap.

Our Vision: Connecting Students Across the Globe

Our vision goes beyond simply bringing internet access to the school. Once the school has reliable internet and computers capable of livestreaming, The Furnace hopes to create opportunities for students in the United States and Uganda to participate in workshops together—across continents and cultures.

​

Imagine a student in Uganda sitting in the technology center and connecting live with a student in the United States. They could work together on a project, participate in a career or educational workshop, learn a new skill, ask questions, share experiences, and discover that although they live thousands of miles apart, they have much in common.

We want to create a global classroom where students can learn from one another, build relationships, exchange ideas, and inspire each other.

​

We don't just want to give students access to the internet. We want to give them access to a world of possibilities and to each other.
